Noir is good. Very good.
But unfortunately, it has it's flaws much like any other show. While the story is gripping and the tension is constant., the slight flaws ruin what would otherwise have been one of the coolest shows I've seen.
The story is about two assassins, one woman and a young girl, with mysterious pasts who receive jobs from clients for assassinations. It revolves mainly around the youngest assassin's struggle to try and remember who she is. It sound a lot like the usual amnesia "who the hell am I?" rubbish but the story is so well executed that you forget the idea isn't quite original.
Although the story is very good and there isn't the annoying fanservce that you get in other shows, this show has it's problems.
The sound is very quiet and sometimes you need to turn on the sub-titles to hear what's going on. There are also long scenes where you have nothing going on and it can be quite boring. Also for the first couple of DVDs not a lot really happens.
These reasonably minor problems aside I think that this is one of the best shows around at the moment and is readily available on DVD.
If you are wiling to put up with these fault good thing will await you.
You will find crisp animation, haunting melodies and fluid combat scenes waiting for you on the other side.
