Burn Up Excess (The follow up to Burn up W), follows the (ahem) 'adventures' of team WARRIOR, a crime fighting team consisting of 4
crazy girls, and one stupid man. They are the 'elite' members of the police, sent to solve the most difficult crimes in Neo Tokyo. The main
character is Rio, a dumb blonde. That's about it.
One word, fanservice. That pretty much sums up Burn Up X. Or, to go into more depth, how about this: Girls with guns fighting crime
in Neo Tokyo. And don't forget the fanservice. It's barely watchable at times, has a painfully obvious and unoriginal storyline, and
2D characters with no depth whatsoever. Efforts at character development are laboured and a waste of time, and the plot is almost
non-existent, despite managing to tie everything together at the end with some (boring) surprises. As you can tell, I'm not so
enthusiastic about this show, and with good reason. It's nothing special, not so good but (usually) not too bad. It is vaguely funny and/or
entertaining at times, but at other times is not worth the time of day. If you enjoy a show that focuses more on humour (and breasts) than
story then you'll have no problems here, but if you like a little more depth, approach with caution. It may not be worth spending £80+ on.
(Or, as I foolishly did, staying up until 1am to watch this crap.)
