Dr Placebo

This movie is another show that is perfect for the first time animé viewer. This is also a great one for the kids. Action fans will not enjoy this show. If you want violence, nudity and swear words you won't find them here. If however you are looking for an anime tale that you can take the kids to see, this is perfect. It was made in co-operation with Disney, and as long as you watch it with an open mind I'm sure it won't disappoint.
The story surrounds a girl who is "Spirited Away" to another word of fairies and spirits. On paper it would read something like the Wizard of Oz, but it doesn't really play out like that. The girl is lost in this other world and her parents have been turned into pigs. The only way she can stay in this other world is to work in a strange factory. The story is enjoyable and not so childish as to stop an adult from appreciating its charm.
The animation is flawless and the sound is quite good too.
This is a good show that isn't going to please people who go "oh, it's a kids movie" or those who are like "this Japanese stuff with witches, spirits and dragons is crap". If you keep your mind open to new ideas rather than the usual sci-fi stuff you will enjoy this film a lot more.

What I am trying to get across is that is a fun story that the whole family can enjoy, so get your family together and stick this DVD in your player.
Buy it or rent it. It's good stuff.
