| Adam, Angel of Red Earth First Seen: Episode 8: Asuka strikes! Info : The Myserious Giant of Light, Adam initiated the second impact when he escaped human captivity in antartica. Adam was converted into an embryo and delivered to NERV by Kaji. It is said that if an angel comes into contact with Adam, mankind will die in the third impact. Death: Adam's state is unknown. Although his embryo was implanted into Gendo's right hand, nothing is known of what happened after third impact began. Gendo lost this arm to Rei, which suggests he may have been merged with Lilith along with Rei. |
| Lilith, Angel of the Black Moon Info : Lilith was kept in terminal dogma, beneath NERV headquarters pinned to a cross. The Lance of Longinus was stuck inside it's chest, and had no lower body. From it's torso, it contantly bled into a vast pool below it. This 'blood' was actually the LCL used inside the evas entry plug. After the Lance of Longinus was removed from it's body, it's legs grew back. It's mask has the mark of SEELE on it. Death: After merging with Rei, Lilith initiated the third impact, but as it failed, her body was destroyed. |
| Sachiel, Angel of Water First seen: Episode 1: Angel attack ! Info: Sachiel was the first angel to attack Tokyo-3. It had powerful regenerative capabilities and super strength, but a weak AT field. It attacked using an energy beam from its eyes and a retractable charged protrusion that ran from its hand to it's elbow and could extend over long distances. It was not very agile, but it could skim across surfaces. Death: The UN military's efforts to destroy Sachiel were futile so NERV was ordered to dispatch an eva against it. Shinji was sent in unit-01. At first, Sachiel made short work of unit-01, using it's arm protrusion to penetrate the eva's skull. The eva then went bezerk. It penetrated Sachiel's AT field, and attacked its core. Realising it had lost the battle, Sachiel self-destructed, but the Eva survived. |
| Shamshel, Angel of Light Info: Shamshel had two supercharged, glowing tentacles, that could easily cut through any substance. Death: Once again the military was useless against the angel, so Shinji was sent in his eva. Foolishly, Shinji shot at the angel, shielding it in smoke. Using its tentacles, Shamshel cut the eva's power cable. With only a few minutes of power left Shinji was ordered to retreat, but disobeyed. Instead, he charged at the angel. Shamshel thrust it's tentacles through evas stomach. With one minute left, Shinji lunged his progressive knife in the Angel's core. The core was destroyed just as Eva-01's power supply ran out, leaving NERV with a completely intact specimen. |
| Ramiel, Angel of Thunder info: Ramiel was giant blue diamond shaped inpenetrable fortress with a hypercharged particle beam. and a huge drill that appeared from its underside. It also had an extrmely powerful AT field. death: Shinji and Rei in Eva 00 and 01 were dispatched against it. Eva-01 was given a particle beam rifle, connected to every power plant in Japan. Eva-00 had an elecromagnetic shield, to defend Shinji from Ramiel's attack. When Ramiel appeared over the Geo-front, a huge drill appeared from its underside and began to dig down through NERV headquarters. It began to charge up it's beam, just as Eva-01's rifle began to. Both fired at the same time. Shinji's shot was deflected and missed, but Ramiel's hit the ground infront of Eva-01. Both Ramiel and Shinji were forced to recharge their weapons. Ramiel fired first, but the beam was stopped by Rei in Eva-00. Shinji took the opportunity to fire again, destroying Ramiel. |
| Ghaghiel, Angel of Fish info: Ghagiel was a giant fish-like creature, using it's sheer weight and size to attack as well as razor sharp teeth. Despite it's bulk, Ghagiel was extremely agile and fast, easily disposing of the UN's pacific fleet. death: Eva-02 was sent against Ghagiel, in an underwater battle. The angel was too difficult for the eva to defeat, so instead, two battleships were sunk and directed into it's mouth. As they entered they fired at it's core, completely destroying Ghagiel. |
| Israfel, Angel of Music info: Israfel had the abililty to split into two seperate angels. It also had 2 cores. Other than this, it had no special abilities. death: At first, Israfel was split in two by Asuka in Unit-02. The two angels easily beat unit-02 and unit-01. Over the next few days, a synchronised attack to the beat of music was planned. In the second battle, the synchronised Evas recombined Israfel and destroyed it's twin cores, leaving a huge crater in it's place. The attack took less than 60 seconds. |
| Sandalphon, Angel of Embryos info: Sandalphon was found in embryo form, sleeping inside a volcano. In it's adult form, Sandalphon had razor sharp teeth. death: After it's discovery, Unit-02 was sent inside the volcano in type-D equipment (a kind of armour that protected the eva from the lava) to retrieve Sandalphon. Unit-01 was at the top of the volcano as backup. When Sandalphon was contained in an electromagnetic cage, it awoke and began to grow rapidly. Now in adult form, it broke free of the cage and bit at unit-02's headpiece. Asuka used her coolant and progressive knife to eventually destroy it. |
| Matariel, Angel of Rain info: Matatriel was one of the weakest angels. It was like a huge spider, with an eye on its underside. Matariel's only attack was to drip highly corrosive acid from it's eye. It had a weak AT field. death: Matariel apperared during a black-out in NERV. It arrived above NERV headquaters and began to drop its acid down. The blackout meant it took a while for the pilots to reach NERV to activate the evas. When they finally did arrive, they formed a plan where they entered a room below the angel. Unit-02 used it's body to block the acid, while Unit-01 retrieved it's rifle and shot up at its eye. It was killed instantly. |
| Sahaquiel, Angel of Sky Info: Sahaquiel was a highly explosive angel that stayed in orbit above the earth. It dropped parts of its body near NERV headquarters, each time improving its accuracy until it finally got the right position, when it would drop itself. Sahaquiel had a strong AT field, and could convert in into kinetic energy. Death: As Sahaquiel's body fell to earth, it was intercepted by all 3 evas, who neutralised it's AT field, allowing Asuka to destroy it's core |
| Ireul, Angel of Fear Info: Ireul was like a collection of nanomachines, which worked like a computer virus. It was in a constant state of evolution, adapting to situations in seconds. It attempted to contaminate the Magi system and activate it's self-destruct mode. Death: As Iruel spread through the Magi, a trap was set by Ritsuko that would leave the angel no choice but to destroy itself. The plan worked just before the Magi were contaminated. |
| Leliel, Angel of Night Info: Leliel appeared as a huge black and white ball in the sky. It was able to dematerialize and materialize in a new place instantaneously. The shadow cast by this ball was the true angel. Inside this shadow was an inverted AT field, which contained a 'pocket universe'. Things that entered the shadow were sucked in to this universe. Death: Unit-01 and Shinji were absorbed into Leliel's shadow. An N^2 mine attack on the shadow was planned, but just as it was thought that unit-01 had run out of power, it rectivated, and tore itself out from the ball, spraying it's blood everywhere, and destroying the'shadow' below. |
| Bardiel, Angel of Blood/ Hail info: Bardiel had the abilities of any other eva, plus it had elastic arms and the abilitiy t biofuse. It was able to use its AT field to propel itself into the air and attack. death: As Unit-03 was activated, it was found to be contaminated and re-classified as Bardiel, the thirteenth angel. It escaped and quickly defeated units 0 & 2. Shinji refused to attack it, reluctant to cause harm to the pilot stuck inside. Bardiel gained the upper hand and held unit-01 in a chokehold. Unit-01 was switched to the dummy plug system, and viciously tore Bardiel apart, spraying it's blood all over the surroundings and crushing the entry plug as Shinji screamed for his father to stop it. |
| Zeruel, Angel of Might info: Zeruel was the probably the strongest angel. It had two razor sharp, paper like tentacles, and an explosive energy beam from it's eyes. death: Zeruel blasted its way into the geo front, and quickly defeated units 0 & 2. unit-01 was dispatched. By this time Zeruel was inside NERV headquarters. Shinji initialy overpowered it, only to have his eva's arm blown off by Zeruel's energy beam. He managed to force it to the surface only to have the eva's energy source run out. Zeruel used this opportunity to blow away the eva's torso armour, revealing its core. As it smashed away at the core, Unit-01 came to life. The now self-aware eva savagely beat the Angel, then proceeded to eat it's S^2 organ, which gave it an unlimited source of power. |
| Arael, Angel of Birds Info: Araeal appeared in space as a giant white bird like figure. Arael seemingly had no physical attacks, but striking mentally at Asuka, it brought back all the repressed memoriesof her tragic past, leaving her intensly depressed, and left her eva without the ability to generate an AT field. Death: The lance of longinus was launched at the angel by Rei in unit-00 killing it instantly. |
| Arisamel, Angel of the Womb
Info: Arisamel was one of the most mysterious angels. Firstly appearing as a glowing white double helix, it changed its form into a solid tendril. It was able to pentrate unit-00's AT field with ease and attempted to biofuse with it. During this time it was able to communicate with Rei. Death: Arisamel was confronted br unit-00 but easily overpowered it. Unit-01 was sent to help her but became the focus of Arisamel's attacks. To save him, Rei self-destructed her Eva, destroying Arisamel with it. |
| Tabris, Angel of Free Will Info: Born exactly 9 months after the second impact, Tabris was the only angel to assume human form. Tabris lived as Kaouru Nagisa until sent to NERV by SEELE. Whether or not he knew he was an angel, or just lived as a normal boy is unknown, although it is certain that he was aware of this upon joining NERV. He quickly befriended Shinji and was established as the replacement pilot for unit-02. His sync ratio was so high that he could control the Eva from outside the entry plug or alter it's level at will. He had a strong AT field, and could levitate. Death: Taking control of unit-02, Tabris headed down towards terminal dogma, followed by hinji in unit-01. However, when he arrived in terminal dogma, realising that Lillith, and not Adam was being held there, he told Shinji to kill him, and he reluctantly complied. |
