Why I think that Neon Genesis Evangelion is the best anime series ever created.

Many people, I am sure, will agree that Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of the best anime series ever made.

It manages to combine action, drama and psychological tension into one fast-paced and interesting show.

From the very beginning, I realised that this was something special. If you search the net for anime fan site, Neon Genesis will be the first proper anime show on the list, after mainstream rubbish like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh.

The action scenes are flawlessly animated, but eye-candy isn't where the show really excels. The best aspect of the show is the dramatic psychological element. The show forces you to at least try and understand. Sometimes the plot is a bit deep, but that's why I love it.

You can watch the show on so many different levels, from basic mecha action show, to a dramatic exploration of the human mind.

You really become attached to the characters, unlike comedy shows like Burn Up Excess. Don't get me wrong, these shows have their place, but in my mind, a high school drama, or police comedy can never really compare to a show like NGE.

NGE has everything, a great soundtrack, thought-provoking storyline and interesting characters. There are exciting fight scenes, hilarious comedy moments and emotional scenes as well.
