Episode 23: A place we call home Nergal are building a new battleship. The Nadesico crew have all left and returned to their normal lives, apart from Fresange, Howmei and Hoary. Unknown to them, they are all under surveillance by Nergal, except for Ruri, who is missing. Some time later, Ruri contacts Megumi. She has contacted everone else, convincing them to retake the Nadesico. She agrees to join in. A group of crew members capture the Nadesico, but with no master key, they are unable to activate it. Fortunately, Hoary has stolen the key and given it to the crew, who activate the Nadesico and begin to pick up the other members, whilst fighting off attacks from Nergal forces. When everyone is present, the Nadesico escapes the Earth, and they decide to locate Tsukmo. Elsewhere, the Nergal chariman, accompanied by Fresange, decides to launch the new battleship against the Nadesico... |
Episode 24: Ubiquitous righteousness Against the will of his Jovian peers, Tsukmo travels to the Nadesico as a Jovian ambassador, bringing a Gekigangar tape with him. The Nadesico crew are forced to watch it. During the screening, Yurika declares that Gekigangar is the key to peace between the Jovians and Earth, as it portrays human qualities which are common to both planets. The crew decide to have a Gekigangar festival, screening every episode back to front, while Tsukmo and Minato 'romance' elsewhere. Meanwhile, the Jovians locate an ancient civilisation's city - a fresh source of PT engines, and with this knowledge, the Jovians decide to stop their peace talks and send Ginichiro on a special mission. Their fleet approaches the Nadesico requesting peace talks. However, the Jovians hand Earth unfair terms of surrender, which are refused. Tsukmo tries to convince the Jovians using the principle of Gekigangar, but the Jovians see things differently. They believe in destroying evil, and see Earth as an evil force. Tsukmo is shot by Ginichiro. The two sides engage in battle, with the Nadesico crew saved by a new battleship - the Kakitsubara. Tsukmo dies, and the Jovians plan to announce his death as an Earth assassination. All hope for peace is dead... |
Episode 25: Being myself, being yourself 12 hours after Tsukmo's death, the propaganda has been spread. Akito, Ryoko and Yurika have been taken to the Kakitsubara, where they meet Fresange. The Kakitsubara is being used in an experiment and is surrounded by CC's. Fresange tells Akito & Yurika to focus on Mars and the old Utopia colony. The Kakitsubara is instantly transported to the colony ruins on Mars. It heads to the ruins in the Martian ice caps. Back on the Nadesico, the admiral tells the crew about the ruins, which are constructed from the same material as the chulips, and react whenever bosun jumps occur. They are a system for contolling bosun jumping. Jovian forces arrive, and a battle begins. Yurika decides to destroy the ruins to stop the fighting, but they are protected by a barrier. Akito & Nagare face off in their Aestevalis', while Fresange enters the ruins. She contacts the Nadesico and explains bosun jumping. Akito bosun jumps into the ruins, where Fresange and Aoi (girl from very first episode, with the orange) are waiting. |
Episode 26: For the lady we will meet someday The battle has ended. Akito & Nagare head down the ruins. Aoi talks to Fresange, explaining that she bosun jumped along with Akito back on Mars. The Jovians return, demanding a rematch with the Nadesico. Akito reaches Aoi and Fresange too late. Aoi bosun jumps, but not before handing a plate to Fresange, saying it is from 'them'. Fresange explains that Aoi jumped back in time to the ancient Martian civilisation, who sent her back to the ruins in the present day, before she was sent to the Martian desert 20 years ago, growing up into Fresange herself. Meanwhile, the Kakitsubara is destroyed by the Jovians. Yurika decides to self-destruct the Nadesico to destroy the ruins, but this will change history, as every bosun jump will not have happened, and they will lose their memories. The admiral changes her mind and they instead decide to jump the Nadesico as the Jovian forces amass. They retrieve the jump calculation unit from the ruins, and, with the help of a kiss between Yurika and Akito, the Nadesico escapes. The war continues, but the Nadesico holds the calculation unit, preventing any more bosun jumps. The mystery of the ancient Martians and Fresange's plate remains. |
